Remember the last BRTB fly swap??
For the guys who took part in the last fly swap during the last of the BRTB days do you remember the big McNasty rubber legged Prince nymph in #8 with about 15 wraps of .30 lead and a Tungston head. There were several comments about its size and weight. I just want everyone to see what I caught on that very fly pattern I sent in to the swap.
Here is the fly
Heres is what it did for me on the Toccoa on Thursday 24" long an even 8lbs

That's steelhead sized Beeeautiful rainbow. Great catch, and neat looking fly.

Duuuuuuuuuude. What an awesome fish. I still have the flies from that swap. I see a trip to the Toccoa in my near future. Hope you keep posting here, Zug.

Hey Finewater
The Hiawassee has been fishing great for Numbers of fish. The bug mass is starting to come back, we had multiply bugs hatch at the same time for the last few weeks, some caddis that haven't been seen since the "eguipment failure" that shut the river off. We saw a ton of Cream and Green caddis in size 16 and 14 among others caddis. The fish numbers are outstanding on a cloudy day you can have a 50 to 75 fish day. The sizes are starting to get better with the increase of bug mass. We have been catching many 14" to 18" Rainbows and Browns so I think the Hiawassee is well on its way back, in 3 years it will once again regain its reputation as a big fish river.

Yeah, it throws the authorities off my trail. And come on up to the big city of La Fayette anytime. I'll be glad to put you on the carp!
Hey Zug - That's great news about the Hiwassee. I hope she does return to the level of fishing she had in her glory years. Man, what a great river.

I have some time off in the middle of June. Let me know if you have a free day some time around then. And leave that Nancyboy 4 weight at home. Bring a 6 wt or 7 wt.
And bring a canoe. And some 3-in-1 oil and some gauze pads. And you're gonna need about ten quarts of antifreeze, preferably Prestone. No, no, make that Quaker State.
