Skunked!

Well, there's nothing like a good 'ole skunkin' to keep your feet on the ground, is there? I fished for about four hours last Friday and got one trout, quick released (thus the skunk) and one little dace. The water looked good and there was plenty of it, but an overcast and cold day probably had them waiting on better weather. To add insult to injury, I see (on NGTO) "Uncle Bert" and "Chuckwalla" were in the same area on Saturday and did quite well. Well dang.

Getting skunked in the Southeast in April is just bad. Bad.

Well, I tried a mayfly nymph first, and when a little trout hit my indicator I put on an adams. Then I tried a stimulator, then a stonefly. Then I got cold and disappointed and decided to call it a day. I think I've been spending too much time fishing DH (when I fished) these last few years....

Guess you better just stick to chasin that stocking truck and throwing pellet flies .

I'm sure it will heat up. I can't believe you didn't try a caddis though.

He sold all his caddis to me!
